There’s nothing like the experience and knowledge you obtain when you work with equipment firsthand. Unfortunately, today, many operators are forced to rely on older, more experienced team members and don’t get to build the confidence that comes from mastering the craft themselves.
Pump Station University is changing that.
We provide in-depth, hands-on, personal
training to operators who are responsible
for maintaining pump stations. They leave
our training better prepared to
troubleshoot, solve problems, and serve
the people depending on them.

As a licensed Water and Wastewater Operator, you have one of the most important jobs in America today. You work to provide fresh, clean water to your community. You know firsthand that the collection, treatment, and distribution of water and wastewater can be a messy, complicated, and often difficult responsibility. You also know that one of the most important pieces of equipment used in this process are pumps. Pumps seem to be simple machines, but when you add the pump controls and other components, pump stations can turn into complicated systems that require niche expertise.
There seems to be a great gap in formal, structured training between passing your test to earn your license and fulfilling your daily duties to keep your pump stations up and running. Furthermore, most training available is either a textbook or PowerPoint presentation. If you are like other operators we’ve worked with, you learn best by HANDS-ON learning. Pump Station University was created to provide HANDS-ON training to operators that are responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining pump stations.
Pump Station University was created by the engineers and operators inside Jack Tyler Engineering. Jack Tyler Engineering is a pump distributor and service company that serves the water and wastewater industry. For over 60 years, JTE has faithfully served municipalities and industrial plants that use all different types of pumps and controls. Our team came together and recognized the need to train the next generation of operators. Out of this awareness and in our state-of-the-art service and repair facility, we immerse participants in pump stations.
Pump Station University is taught by engineers and service technicians that live and breathe pumps and controls. We do this work every day and absolutely love it! We are excited to work with your operators, and we thank you for trusting us with your time.
